Expeditions form an necessary part of World of Warcraft. More than anything else, they take the tedium out of the game but then, conquests also become inescapable episodes at times in World of Warcraft. The first occasions that you play, they are exciting and keeps you glued to the game. The next couple of occasions you try out many of the several options, but after that, it is more about efficiency than campaigns.
After some time quests are all about finishing it in the most competent means, and there are 2 ways one can do this. The 1st happens to be the most frequent, which according to a few, is one of the approaches where you win by trial and error. With this method, there is nothing planned as part of your scheme, you merely walk the trodden path. The biggest problem of this erratic approach is that you are most confused and perplexed.
The second route is the competent one: It involves entering your moves, refining the campaign each time until when you start a quest you follow it from A to B to C to culmination. I personally learnt about this scheme while I played a now-defunct game called Pools of Radiance and this applies to any game, which has any replay value. In case you feel that you would follow the same route while returning, make notes on the way. If you consider you?ll be doing the pursuit again, make remarks on the pursuit and journey on a different road for variety by all means. You are most welcome to try out assorted alternatives but if you forget to note down your activities, chances are that next time around, you would be moving about like a headless chicken.
The question could be how much? To know this, let us look at Pools of Radiance, the game that came before WoW and from where I learnt my 1st lessons. I 1st brought my heroes from the walls of Phlan and journeyed up the river to reach a lake. I remember that there was a large pyramid in the middle of the lake exuding volumes of pollutants into the clean river and my heroes had to probe. In brief, the pyramid held one of the most vexing mazes I have ever experienced. It is not only all twisted and tangled which made it impossible to see any landmark, but also had teleporters which randomly transported you all the time. I finally decided to note down all my actions on paper, but not before expending a large amount of time uselessly tying to manage my situation in the labyrinth. This enabled me to finish the trip in ten minutes when I tried to run it with a new group the following time.
So Map, register, elaborate and while it may sound a little dull to begin with, when you carry it to it?s normal conclusion and you?ve leveled 4 times quicker than everyone else, the dullness doesn?t smart so much.
